Good advice you can trust Aug 22, 2010

This straightforward book contains a lot of useful information for anyone considering self-publishing. No "secrets," no inflated promises -- just what you can do to increase your amazon sales. Clear explanations and directions.

Don't judge this book by its cover. Aug 02, 2010

I resisted reading this book for a long time due to its funky cover. He's since improved it, though I still wish he'd use a different image. I disagree with his advice to do the special Amazon cover approach to be designed for easy readability. Sure it stands out, but it looks a bit odd--which may be fine for certain books but not for one about publishing. That said, Aaron does an excellent job of walking you through the self-publishing process in the era of Amazon.
Thanks Aaron for sharing your insights and meticulous research; your help is much appreciated!

A Plan that Works Jul 31, 2010

Forget bookstores, says the author. They are not receptive to small publishers. Amazon.com is the modern way to sell self-published books. There is a revolution going on--the desktop publishing revolution. If you can combine it with print-on-demand and online marketing, you have a plan that can work!

He tells you how to write a marketable book, how to format it, how to select and optimize a title and subtitle, how to craft a cover, how to prepare graphics. How to use Amazon to best advantage in marketing your book. Barnes & Noble too. Amazon can be a powerful selling machine, but you have to know how to use it.

He uses Lightning Source for printing and distributing his books, which may not be appropriate for you. But you can still benefit from his long experience as a successful self-publisher.

Incredibly Useful Jul 12, 2010

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2YMBKY2NRW9NX I bought both "POD for Profit" and "Aiming at Amazon" by Aaron Shepard and consider these two of the most valuable books I've ever bought.

All-in-all a good book on POD book publishing for Amazon Jul 06, 2010

Aiming at Amazon by Aaron Shepard is a good self-publishing book with the aims at selling on Amazon with the major focuses being on amazon.com as the author is American; though there is much about Amazon.co.uk, .ca and all the others, including the various commands in French, German, Japanese and a nice little appendix section - some of which is found in has other great book which i mention later.

I have the 2.1 version which i bought directly from amazon and part of the book are now out of date, (though nothing major like amazon.co.uk now has Authors Page)but such is technology which moves at rapid pace, know the author refers to his updates on his own website.

If you are into PRINT ON DEMAND selling (POD) and you're aiming at online sells via Amazon then this is the book for you, with lots of detail and info and author and publishers know-how on the things that matter - and what not do do. The author is honest in his little know-how of Kindle, but still offers his advice and points you in the right direction (cheers 4 that : )

I rate this book at 4, simply because i found POD for Profit by the same author (which i read last week) far better as overall POD printing, but as this book suggest, its aiming at Amazon! And does it very well.

All-in-all a good book on POD book publishing for Amazon
