Skin for Nook

Being a new Nook user I was not sure how the skin would work out. As it turned out I could not use it with the Leather cover that I ordered at the same time. Not really a problem, it did not cost much.

Worth the price I paid for it, but not much more.

Well, for the five bucks I spent here, this does an OK job.

The Good:
* Soft skin. Doesn't feel bad or rubbery.
* Covers entire back, and all buttons.
* Easy to use.
* Protects from basic scuffs and handling wear.
* Has the Nook's stylized "n" on the back.
* Has a nice design on the back.
* Dark color makes reading seem a little easier on the eyes.
* Doesn't really add any significant weight.

The Bad:
* Doesn't fit perfectly. Has a gap that folds/pops up around the edge of the screen.
* Mine shipped folded in half, which may have caused the problems with the fit.
* The "window" membrane which is meant to make it possible to see the word "nook" at the top is really useless. You can't really see through it.
* Absolutely no screen protection, but that was expected.

The Ugly:
* Collects dust and hair like crazy. Looks terrible after a short time.
* Makes it hard to fit the Nook into a leather cover, like an M-Edge (if you were thinking of trying both at the same time).
* It's not going to provide any real protection from drops or sharp objects.


Final verdict: This is passable as an "only at home" cover, for reading your Nook without being in a full case (thus reducing the weight), but I wouldn't take it out of the house because it's not up to really protecting the Nook, and it's not very pretty once you've started using it. Instead of people asking about my Nook's capabilities, they'll end up saying, "Hey! What's that lint-covered, hairy rectangle you're holding?"

Get it as an at-home backup. For the price, it's worth it for that.

Cover for a nook

The cover for the nook is perfect and fits the categories that I wanted. One: it is inexpensive. Two: the silicone protects all four corners in case I drop it. Third, It is easy to put on and take off (if you need or want to. It does not protect the front viewing area nor the bottom area.

Premium Black Soft Gel Silicone Skin for the Nook

This Skin does provide excellent protection for the nook. And it fits very well. I believe it will last a long time because it is thick and durable. With that said, it has one problem for me. It attracts dust and hair like a dust magnet. I read in bed, and it gets dirty fast. You can clean it easily with a damp cloth or sponge, but skin and hair is all over it again quickly. For that reason, I only gave it three stars.
